Suds Sheets threw 90-91 mph plus a sharp breaking ball. The crew has no interest since they can't use a 3.09 era guy when Gallardo had a 3.79 last year and the next best was 5.22. Sheets is only 31 and in the best shape of his career. Wow what Duncan could do with him.

I'd take Sheets in a heartbeat. The Cards could use another arm, too; they just lost Pineiro to the Angels.

It will be interesting if there is a bidding war for him. We just got Doug Davis so along with Randy Wolf we set to take on the middle of your lineup.

and what are the Cards going to do to take on Braun and Fielder?

I hope the cards' scouts have a positive reaction of his throwing sessions down in Monroe, LA and sign Sheets asap. But more probably it will be McClellan as the 5th starter. And we all know that McClellan caves in and gives out in his second inning of relief or if he has to pitch on consecutive days. - Not a good omen for a reliever trying to stretch out 8 innings and be a starter and get the big bucks on his next contract.
