I'm curious about your opinion on his remarks R4E. Are you going to sell out like Al Sharpton, the CBC and the NAACP and brush them off as harmless?
Apparently the niece of Martin Luther King Jr. is calling Reid's comments "sadly outrageous."
"If Michael Steele or any other conservative had said anything like it, the remarks would be labeled racist and plastered over every available news outlet," Alveda King said in a statement released Tuesday.
"What would my uncle and my father think, to hear such things from one of the most powerful leaders in the country? Their 'beloved community' is sorely threatened when racism rears its ugly head once again."
Personally, I think they were taken out of context just like every other innocent comment that many people in the limelight make, and are prosecuted for, while blacks freely say more offensive things on a regular basis without criticism.
That said though, I can promise you that if any white politician or celebrity had said this, the media and the black community would be trying to destroy them like they did Trent Lott. This is what happens when you overreact for the sake of destroying someone. At some point things are back on you, and how you respond speaks volumes. Nuff said about Al, the CBC & the NAACP who are all in the hip pockets of the liberal democrats.

*The authors quote Reid as saying privately that Obama, as a black candidate, could be successful thanks, in part, to his "light-skinned" appearance and speaking patterns "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one."
"He [Reid] was wowed by Obama's oratorical gifts and believed that the country was ready to embrace a black presidential candidate, especially one such as Obama -- a 'light-skinned' African American 'with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one,' " Halperin and Heilemann say.*
Is that the quote, DT?
Much ado about nothing, as far as I am concerned. I hope Senator Reid stays on top Obama's legislative agenda.
Do you really believe that African Americans are shocked that white men from Reid's era are still evaluating race in antiquated fashions?
Bill Clinton said of then candidate Obama to Senator Kennedy: "He(Obama) would have been serving us coffee a couple of months ago!" Reports say that Senator Kennedy was HIGHLY offended by Clinton's remark. yeah, right
Most of you are a bunch of ingrained racists, DT. And this is news? I think not.
Ross Perot dropped a "you people" on an all black crowd during his presidential campaign
These things are far from shocking...
The question is - given all that has happened? what are you going to do going forward. Senator Reid can be pressured into doing the "right" things for the advancement of the country and people of color in USA's future.

"Most of you"??? That belief is what makes you the racist, not me. That statement is grossly incorrect, but believing it somehow fuels your anger and belief that the world is somehow holding youn down. That someone else is to blame for the AA community's gross failures. You really are an angry black man.
When and if you ever mature enough to start taking responsibility, you might be capable of coming up with some productive thoughts and ideas. But as long as you really believe this and choose to blame others, nothing will change.
As for your thoughts on Reid's comments, I find is quite amusing that you are willing to give him a pass, but not surprised at all. Apparently you can forgive or rationalize the whities that help support your "dependence agenda", but you're so quick to try and ruin anyone else.
